Rev Shirley Cowan

announced as the next Vicar

for  Holy Trinity and St Ann’s

Announcement by The Archdeacon of St Helen’s and Warrington

“I am delighted to announce the appointment of Rev Shirley Cowan as the next Vicar of Holy Trinity and St Ann's Warrington.
This is a strategic appointment for the centre of Warrington and  for the ministry of St Ann's. Shirley has significant experience in ministry and community.  She is currently assistant curate at St Stephens Church in Gateacre where she has developed new services and supported teams to encourage ministries such as Messy Church, that has been attended monthly by up to 100 children.
As a former teacher, she has a heart for schools ministry and has been an active governor of a local school.
During her incumbent's study leave, she had the experience of leading the parish for four months.
She is committed to the agenda of helping the church to make a bigger difference and has been actively involved in church community initiatives such as Street Pastors and Debt Counselling.
I look forward to her institution in this new ministry and I am sure both parishes will be pleased to welcome Shirley and her family into the community.”
